CLS Complestes the China-Germany Biological Information Summer Research and Training Program

        As interdisciplinary in the field of science, bioinformatics is a combination of biology, computer science, mathematics and statistics to analyze and explain biological data. Bioinformatics uses mathematical and statistical techniques to analyze biological query by computers. Bioinformatics has been an important part of many biological areas.

 

        The China-Germany Biological Information Summer Research and Training Program is held for the first time in 2008. The group has 7 students led by Professor CHEN Ming. The group set of on July 31st and come back on August 15th, lasting 15days.

 

        The group visited Universität Bielefeld, Universität Potsdam, Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology (MPIMP), Humboldt University, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU), Konstanz University and some institutes and laboratories.

 

        The program not only promoted the cooperation in the field of bioinformatics, but also strengthened communication between teachers and students. Our college and some universities reached the preliminary intention of regular mutual visits in the future.
