The Symposium on Cellular Homeostasis and Human Diseases was held on November 7^th by the College of Life Sciences, Zhejiang University, providing an excellent platform for more than 80 faculties and students to learn and discuss the latest research findings on cellular homeostasis and human diseases. It is an event of the 90^th anniversary celebration series of CLS, ZJU.

        At the opening ceremony, Prof. PENG Jinrong, the Dean of College of Life Sciences, ZJU, expressed warm welcome to the attendees, especially the young experts and scholars. He pointed out that this symposium would promote the discipline construction, improve the academic atmosphere, and deepen the exchange and collaboration in related fields with universities home and abroad. He also wished the symposium full success.

        During the plenary session, 11 wonderful presentations were delivered on the field of cell signaling transduction, transcriptional regulation and epigenetic modification, cell stress and disease by the special guests. They were Dr. WANG Wenqi, from University of California; Dr. WANG Donglai, from Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences; Dr. PIAO Hailong, from Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Dr. LI Xu, from Westlake University, Dr. JU Huaiqiang, from Sun Yat-Sen University, Prof. HUANG Jun, from Life Sciences Institute, ZJU; Prof. ZHANG Xiaobo, Prof. CHEN Jun, Prof. YI Wen, Prof. YU Luyang and Dr. LIN Aifu from CLS, ZJU. Besides, Prof. LIU Wei, from School of Medicine, ZJU, Prof. SHAO Jianzhong and Prof. YAN Qingfeng from CLS, ZJU, also attended the symposium.

        Each presentation was followed by a Q&A session and the faculties and students there expressed their academic views and exchanged their ideas with the speakers. This symposium not only provided the latest research findings on cellular homeostasis and human diseases, but also showed the basic scientific research and talents cultivation capability and expanded the influence of the discipline of CLS.
