As part of overseas workshop of Life Sciences Ⅱ, the College of Life Sciences held a series of Cloud Lectures by overseas academic masters from 23 to 29 September 2020. Dr. James Whelan, Dr. David Day and Dr. Antony Bacic from The Australian Academy of Sciences, Dr. Baojun Wang from the University of Edinburgh, Dr. Brad Day from Michigan State University and Dr. Jian Hua from Cornell University were invited by the College to give a cloud lecture. This program is funded by the 5th Zhejiang University Graduate International Workshop in order to further promote the international exchanges and cultivate outstanding students with international vision and competitiveness.

The content of the lectures was extensive, from plants innate immunity to microbial symbiosis, immune regulation of plant from synthetic biology to temperature changes. The lectures have brought the students several academic feast in the field of life science, and give them an opportunity of close interaction with overseas master online.

In the part of Q & A, students actively participated, and professors also answered their questions in detail. After the lecture, the students said that they have benefited a lot. They not only had some knowledge of the cutting-edge content of life science, but also improved their English listening and speaking ability and aroused their interest in scientific research.
