As part of Overseas Workshop of Life Sciences, the College of Life Sciences held a series of Cloud Lectures by overseas academic masters from September to November 2022. Prof. Lingfeng QIN from Yale University, Prof. Belinda Medlyn from Western Sydney University, Prof. Hong QIAN from University of Washington, Prof. Stanton Gelvin from Purdue University, Dr. Dechen LIN from University of Southern California, Dr. Takaomi Sanda from National University of Singapore, and Dr. Jun YU from Temple University were invited by the College to give a cloud lecture. This program is funded by the 7th Zhejiang University Graduate International Workshop in order to further promote the international academic exchanges and cultivate outstanding students with international vision and competitiveness.

The topics of the lectures were comprehensive, from DNA modification and manipulation to climate change and forests, from transcription factors in cancers and rare diseases to immunity in inflammation and therapeutics. The lectures have brought the students several academic feasts in the field of life sciences, and provide them an opportunity of close interaction with overseas masters online.

In the part of Q & A, students actively participated, and professors also answered their questions in detail. After the lecture, the students said that they had benefited a lot. They not only had some knowledge of the cutting-edge fields of life sciences, but also improved their English listening and speaking ability and aroused their interest in scientific research.
