On July 6, Professor Rodolfo Dirzo, a member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and professor at Stanford University, was invited to visit the College of Life Sciences at Zhejiang University and engaged in academic exchanges.

Professor Rodolfo Dirzo is a renowned scholar in the field of global ecology, with long-term research interests in animal-plant interactions and biodiversity conservation in forest ecosystems.

The academic exchange meeting was held in Room 123 of the college building. Professor Dirzo had in-depth discussions with participating faculty on cutting-edge topics such as biodiversity maintenance under global change, habitat fragmentation, belowground ecological effects of predator loss, and adaptive evolution of widespread oak species (Quercus). During the meeting, Professor Jianxiang Liu introduced the college's general profile, and Professor Xingfeng Si shared his team's recent research progress in animal ecology, island biogeography, and biodiversity conservation.

This event broadened the academic horizons of faculty and students, strengthened the ecological ties between Zhejiang University and Stanford University, and laid a solid foundation for future deep collaboration and development in the field of ecology.
