Introduction

Biophysics is the application of the theory, method and technology of modern physics and modern molecular biology technology to study the physical properties of living materials, the mechanisms of physical motion in living phenomena and the interaction between physical factors and living systems.

The Institute of Biophysics of Zhejiang University is a national key biophysics subject, relying on the first-class discipline of biology. Founded in 1958, it is one of the first universities in China to confer master’s degree and doctor’s degree. The institute has 3 professors, 2 associate professors, 4 postdoctoral and research assistants. Among them, there are 1 winner of Changjiang Scholars and National Outstanding Youth Fund, 1 winner of the “New Century Outstanding Talents Support Program” of the Ministry of Education, 1 winner of Zhejiang Outstanding Youth Fund, 1 winner of Zhejiang Provincial “151 Talents Project”, and 2 “Seeking Truth from Young Scholars” of Zhejiang University. The main sources of research projects of the institute include national 973 plan, national key research and development plan, national 863 plan, national key projects of foundation, international (regional) cooperation and exchange program, general fund program, other major key projects of provincial and ministerial level and enterprise cooperation program. The research results have been published in famous biological journals such as Nature, P Natl Acad Sci USA, Nucl Acids Res, Small, Elife, ACS Appl Mater Interfaces, Oncogene, J Mol Cell Biol, Mol Microbiol, Mol Cell Proteomics, J Biol Chem, etc. The company has more than 20 invention patents, including American invention patents. Members in the institute have undertaken teaching work such as proteomics, biophysics and instrumental analysis, and biophysics and instrumental analysis experiment, etc.
