Biophysics is an interdisciplinary subject of biology and physics, applying the theories, methods and techniques of modern physics and modern molecular biology techniques. The application of nuclear technology in agricultural and biological sciences is one of the important fields of biophysics.

        The biophysics discipline is founded in 1958, one of the first academic disciplines in China obtained the right to grant the master and doctor degree of science. In 1988, biophysics is authorized as the state key discipline by Ministry of Education. In all kinds of evaluation systems, the discipline of biophysics is always ranked in the top three of similar subjects in China.
