The discipline of botany is authorized as the provincial key discipline in 2003, and has the right of awarding the doctor degree in 1997.

        The discipline has formed its own characteristic in the research areas of molecular genetics and genetic engineering, conservation genetics and cell engineering, microbiological genetics and fermentation engineering and so on.

        The general development goal of the discipline is to build an important platform of cultivating academic talents through science and education combination. In the next few years, we will continue to play our strength to raise academic level and strive to become the state key discipline.
